Round 1 - Pick 23 - Kenneth Grant (DL, Michigan)
Why make this pick...
There are few players that I do not believe the Packers would pass on if they lasted until pick #23. Those players are Tetairoa McMillian, Mykell Williams, Will Johnson, Derrick Harmon, and Shemar Stewart. I get the feeling that Grant may last until #23 as teams may be prioritzing Edge/OL before them. He has all of the tools that the Packers look for. He is described as having rare movement skills for his size. He has an elite bull rush to completely overwhelm the A gap. Two other tidbits....1) he is only 21 years old and 2) the Packers did meet with him at the Shrine Bowl. He would be a fun watch playing next to Kenny Clark. Note there are a ton of teams in early second round that need WR/CB. I like Matthew Golden; but I just cannot see the Packers drafting a sub 6-0 receiver in the 1st round. I am hearing buzz around Maxwell Hairston. Pick would make sense as this type of cornerback will not be there at 54.
Round 2 - Pick 54 - Tre Harris (WR, Ole Miss)
Why make this pick...
He is a big outside receiver that the Packers are in desperate need of. He has great hands and knows how to react and high point the ball. I feel like people are sleeping on him a bit and I am not sure he makes it to #54 due to WR needy teams in early 2nd round. The Packers are a Romeo Doubs hit away from a nightmare situation at outside receiver. Defensive lineman of note are Alfred Collins, TJ Sanders, and Tyleik Williams (a favorite of mine). Ben Morrison is a zone cornerback that fits the scheme. Also, this is Marcus Mbow terriorty that has a Zac Tom feel. Another guy not to sleep on is Jonah Savaiinaea. He is a young gap scheme player who had a good shuttle and is young.
Round 3 - Pick 94 - Charles Grant (OT, William & Mary)
Why make this pick...
Grant has the feet to play left tackle. His issue is weight and power. There are reports that he has issues keeping weight on. At the combine he measured in at 311 pounds; however may have played at a shade under 300 pounds last year. If you hit on this guy, it makes Rasheed Walker more expedenable next year. I do feel like Grant will be off the board at 94. A receiver to watch out here if he slips is Tory Horton. Horton provides the vertical threat that the Packers need. I also personally like defensive lineman Savion Jones out of LSU and Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins out of Georgia.
Round 4 - Pick 124 - Jordan Hancock (CB, Ohio State)
Why make this pick...
This guy offers a ton of versatility and could essentially play outside, slot, or safety. Lots of possibilities for Hafley. Projects the best as a big slot cornerback. He is an explosive athlete who excels in zone coverage. Although a willing tackler, he is below average in that department. A couple options here are Ty Hamilton (DL, Ohio State) or Yahya Black (DL, Iowa). Also, Dylan Fairchild is an interesting zone offensive guard out of Georgia. Donte Thornton is a big receiver out of Tennessee who would provide the vertical threat that the Packers desperately need. Elic Ayomanor would be intriguing here as well. Meets every parameter of the Packers (size, speed, jumping). Plus he run blocks and will be just under 22 at the time of the draft.
Round 5 - Pick 159 - Smael Mondon Jr (LB, Georgia)
Why make this pick...
This is more of a luxury pick and not a position of need. Also, the size is smaller than what the Packers normally target as he only weighs 224 pounds. But this guy is a chess piece. Listening to scouts they really like how this guy plays. For his size he can really hit. Also excels in coverage and can blitz. I could see them also drafting a running back around this range. This class is loaded and there will be one available here. If they want to go off-script I guy I like is RJ Harvey...I doubt they draft him due to size. A guy that I think they will be all over is Damien Martinez. He is ideal for inside zone/gap scheme. Chimeron Dike is also moving up boards; he has a lot of traits the Packers covet.
Round 6 - Pick 198 - Isiah Neyor (WR, Nebraska)
Why make this pick...
Neyor is big, fast receiver who can get vertical. Neyor scored a 10.0 RAS and had a broad jump of 11-1 (2nd among receivers) at the combine. His negatives are that he is older (almost 24 at time of draft). Also not the greatest route runner and struggles against press for his size. There will be a ton of edges/DL/RB's that will intrigue the Packers here. Outside of those positions, guys to look at for this pick are Eli Cox (OC, Kentucky) and Cody Simon (multi-role LB out of Ohio State who would be great on special teams).
Round 7 - Pick 237 - Kalel Mullings (RB, Michigan)
Why make this pick...
This is one of the best running back classes in recent memory. The entire draft is littered with running backs and I envision there being really good value at the end of the draft. Mullings is a big back that would really fit LeFleur's scheme. He is a 1-cut running back, with good vision, and a ton of power. At 230 pounds he does not have a ton of wiggle or long speed is below average (think 4.60 forty). Mullings offers special teams versatility as he is a converted linebacker (convereted to linebacker half-way through junior year).
Round 7 - Pick 250 - Ben Yurosek (TE, Georgia)
Why make this pick...
He would be a guy that comes in and plays H-back. He is a jack of all trades, master of none. The Packers back-up tight ends last year (Ben Sims and John Fitzpatrick) cannot run. If he would make the team he could be used in a couple of roles. Although not a burner, his movement skills far surprass the Packers current back-ups at tight end. I also figured I would hedge my bet and have the Packers pick three players from Georgia.
Disclaimers:
Note that offensive line schemes are starting to become more intermingled; teams are not soley zone vs gap vs power. When I picked an offensive line scheme it was the dominant type of scheme that each particular team ran. For example, the Packers ran a lot of inside zone (no longer outside zone team) with gap runs sprinkled in. I therefore still have them labeled as a zone scheme even though 1) they do have gap run concepts & 2) their offseason moves suggest increasing gap style runs will be built into their 2025 scheme. For many of these teams I have picked "Mix" due to them having both gap and zone runs built into their schemes.
Note that all teams primarily play a zone defense. When picking a coverage tendency, "man" indicates that a particular team is in man at least 35% of the time; "zone" tendency indicates that a particular team is in man less than 25% of the time; "mix" is somewhere in the middle. The Packers play zone very close to the lower threshold (about 25-27% of the time). Teams with new defensive coordinators I used my judgement in determining a coverage tendency based on their past experience.
Trends I believe will happen in the draft:
Offensive line is going to get pushed up in round 1 due to the lack of depth at the position. The position is very weak, especially at interior offensive line. There is also a drop off at the OT position after Aireontae Ersery.
A ton of teams need an outside cornerback and/or outside receiver. I feel like the start of round 2 will be a sweet spot for these two positions. They may even get pushed up into back half of round 1.
Running back position is loaded. I expect a run to start in round 3.
There are a ton of teams that need a quarterback. The question is, are any of these quarterbacks that good? Listening to evaluators I do not hear these glowing first round reviews on them. They all come with some serious question marks. Sanders has a poor arm with bad pocket awarness....Dart played in a Lane Kiffin quarterback friendly system.....Milroe cant ready a defense and has small hands..... Shough is 25 years old, only started for one year, and had a ton of injuries. With that said I think there will be at least one trade-up in the back half of the first round for one of them. If the Browns and Giants pass at picks 2 and 3 on quarterback, I believe their will be competition to trade up. My target is the Vikings at pick #24, who only have 4 picks in this draft.
With that said, here we go....
PICK 1 - TENNESSEE TITANS
Offensive Line Scheme: Zone
Defensive Front: Odd
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Mix
Team Needs:
Quarterback
Wide Receiver
Edge
The Pick: Cam Ward (QB, Miami)
Rationale: By far the best QB prospect in draft and they need QB.
PICK 2 - CLEVELAND BROWNS
Offensive Line Scheme: Zone
Defensive Front: Even
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Zone
Team Needs:
Quarterback
Offensive Tackle
Wide Receiver
The Pick: Travis Hunter (CB, Colorado)
Rationale: Travis Hunter and Abdual Carter are too much value to pass on for a QB.
PICK 3 - NEW YORK GIANTS
Offensive Line Scheme: Multiple
Defensive Front: Odd
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Man
Team Needs:
Quarterback
Interior Offensive Line
Defensive Line
The Pick: Abdual Carter (Edge, Penn State)
Rationale: Similar reason with Brown's pick, I do not feel the Giants will pass one of the two blue chippers in this draft.
PICK 4 - NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
Offensive Line Scheme: Gap
Defensive Front: Even
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Mix
Team Needs:
Offensive Tackle
Wide Receiver
Defensive Line
The Pick: Will Campbell (OT, LSU)
Rationale: After top 3 go, this pick could go a ton of ways. Going with Campbell to help out their QB.
PICK 5 - JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS
Offensive Line Scheme: Multiple
Defensive Front: Even
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Zone
Team Needs:
Cornerback
Defensive Line
Safety
The Pick: Ashton Jeanty (RB, Boise State)
Rationale: All signs point to an offenive player. I do not think McMillian warrents the 1st pick.
PICK 6 - LAS VEGAS RAIDERS
Offensive Line Scheme: Zone
Defensive Front: Even
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Man
Team Needs:
Cornerback
Wide Receiver
Running Back
The Pick: Jalon Walker (Edge, Goergia)
Rationale: I feel like he fits in an odd front, but I do not see him lasting until pick 8. He has the best make-up of every player in the draft.
PICK 7 - NEW YORK JETS
Offensive Line Scheme: N/A
Defensive Front: Even
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Zone
Team Needs:
Offensive Tackle
Wide Receiver
Tight End
The Pick: Armound Membou (OT, Missouri)
Rationale: I was torn on this one. I really wanted to go Warren or edge. Many think Membou is best lineman in draft.
PICK 8 - CAROLINA PANTHERS
Offensive Line Scheme: Zone
Defensive Front: Odd
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Zone
Team Needs:
Edge
Wide Receiver
Safety
The Pick: Mason Graham (DL, Michigan)
Rationale: I prefer Graham in an even front, but I feel like if he drops this far the Panthers will take him. Panthers want to move out of this pick.
PICK 9 - NEW ORLEANS SAINTS
Offensive Line Scheme: Zone
Defensive Front: Odd
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Mix
Team Needs:
Quarterback
Cornerback
Edge
The Pick: Mykell Williams (Edge, Georgia)
Rationale: Saints have a ton of big needs. I do not see Mykell getting outside of pick 10.
PICK 10 - CHICAGO BEARS
Offensive Line Scheme: Gap
Defensive Front: Even
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Man
Team Needs:
Edge
Running Back
Defensive Line
The Pick: Tyler Warren (TE, Penn State)
Rationale: Dream scenario for Bears. Johnson likes to play 12 personal. If Warren falls the Bears woud start the Johnson tenure with a revamped offensive line, two good receivers, and now two good tight ends. Cant give Caelob Williams any more to succeed.
PICK 11 - SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
Offensive Line Scheme: Zone
Defensive Front: Even
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Zone
Team Needs:
Defensive Line
Edge
Offensive Tackle
The Pick: Walter Nolan (DL,Ole Miss)
Rationale: 49ers like to draft defensive lineman. Nolan would be ideal 3-Tech for defense.
PICK 12 - DALLAS COWBOYS
Offensive Line Scheme: Gap
Defensive Front: Even
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Mix
Team Needs:
Running Back
Wide Receiver
Defensive Line
The Pick: Tetairoa McMillian (WR, Arizona)
Rationale: Cowboys have a big need at receiver, really CeeDee Lamb and nothing else. McMillian would be ideal for fit.
PICK 13 - MIAMI DOLPHINS
Offensive Line Scheme: Zone
Defensive Front: Odd
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Man
Team Needs:
Offensive Tackle
Cornerback
Defensive Line
The Pick: Kelvin Banks (OT, Texas)
Rationale: Terron Armstead just retired and you have a quarterback with concussion issues. I know cornerback is an issue, but they also need offensive line help. I like Simmons here as well, but Banks has scheme and positional versatility that is unlike most lineman in the draft.
PICK 14 - INDIANAPOLIS COLTS
Offensive Line Scheme: Power
Defensive Front: Even
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Mix
Team Needs:
Tight End
Offensive Tackle
Edge
The Pick: Colston Loveland (TE, Michigan)
Rationale: Everybody has Loveland going here.
PICK 15 - ATLANTA FALCONS
Offensive Line Scheme: Zone
Defensive Front: Even
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Zone
Team Needs:
Edge
Cornerback
Defensive Line
The Pick: Shemar Stewart (Edge, Texas A&M)
Rationale: I am 100% sold this will be a defensive player. Stewart would really fit their even front defense.
PICK 16 - ARIZONA CARDINALS
Offensive Line Scheme: Multiple
Defensive Front: Odd
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Zone
Team Needs:
Cornerback
Interior Offensive Line
Edge
The Pick: Jihaad Campbell (LB, Alabama)
Rationale: Campbell is top 10-12 player in draft. Medicals are pushing him down.
PICK 17 - CINCINNATI BENGALS
Offensive Line Scheme: Zone
Defensive Front: Even
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Mix
Team Needs:
Edge
Safety
Linebacker
The Pick: Mike Green (Edge, Marshall)
Rationale: I see a ton of mocks with Green going to Bengals. I do worry about his point of attack in a 4-3.
PICK 18 - SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
Offensive Line Scheme: Zone
Defensive Front: Odd
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Zone
Team Needs:
Interior Offensive Line
Cornerback
Wide Receiver
The Pick: Grey Zabel (OG, North Dakota State)
Rationale: This pick will be the hardest to nail down as the Seahawks have a ton of glaring holes. Barron is really good positional value for their zone scheme.
PICK 19 - TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
Offensive Line Scheme: Zone
Defensive Front: Odd
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Zone
Team Needs:
Linebacker
Edge
Cornerback
The Pick: Will Johnson (CB, Michigan)
Rationale: My gut tells me this is an edge. I see Jihaad Campbell going here a lot. In this mock cornerback slip and Will Johnson fits their zone scheme.
PICK 20 - DENVER BRONCOS
Offensive Line Scheme: Zone
Defensive Front: Odd
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Zone
Team Needs:
Running Back
Wide Receiver
Defensive Line
The Pick: Matthew Golden (WR, Texas)
Rationale: I love the Golden fit in Payton's offense. Rumor has it that Payton wants to move up for Jeanty.
PICK 21 - PITTSBURGH STEELERS
Offensive Line Scheme: Multiple
Defensive Front: Odd
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Man
Team Needs:
Defensive Line
Running Back
Quarterback
The Pick: Derrick Harmon (DL, Oregon)
Rationale: I am torn between Nolan and Harmon. If either one of them makes it this far I think they are too good to pass up.
PICK 22 - LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
Offensive Line Scheme: Gap
Defensive Front: Odd
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Mix
Team Needs:
Tight End
Wide Receiver
Defensive Line
The Pick: Kenneth Grant (DL, Michigan)
Rationale: Grant can work in either even or odd front. He will have a lot of suitors.
PICK 23 - GREEN BAY PACKERS
Offensive Line Scheme: Zone
Defensive Front: Even
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Mix
Team Needs:
Wide Receiver
Cornerback
Edge
The Pick: Maxwell Hairston (CB, Kentucky)
Rationale: Hairston would fit nicely into Hafley's scheme. He excels in zone and will be able to stick on the outside (unsure if Barron can). He was a senior bowl standout and I keep hearing nobody moves like he does. In this mock Barron is on the board. I feel like Packers are leaning towards Hairston's skill set.
PICK 24 - MINNESOTA VIKINGS
Offensive Line Scheme: Zone
Defensive Front: Even
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Zone
Team Needs:
Cornerback
Interior Offensive Line
Safety
The Pick: Jahdae Barron (CB, Texas)
Rationale: Barron will probably not make it here, but if he does it would be ideal pick for Flores's zone scheme.
PICK 25 - HOUSTON TEXANS
Offensive Line Scheme: Multiple
Defensive Front: Even
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Zone
Team Needs:
Offensive Tackle
Interior Offensive Line
Defensive Line
The Pick: Tyler Booker (OG, Alabama)
Rationale: Texans offensive line is brutal. I am certain this will be OL, just not sure which one. There is rumors that Texans want to trade up.
PICK 26 - LOS ANGELES RAMS
Offensive Line Scheme: Zone
Defensive Front: Odd
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Zone
Team Needs:
Cornerback
Linebacker
Offensive Tackle
The Pick: Josh Simmons (OT, Ohio State)
Rationale: Rams in need of cornerback, but they are all gone. Simmons moves well for size and would work well in wide zone scheme.
PICK 27 - BALTIMORE RAVENS
Offensive Line Scheme: Multiple
Defensive Front: Odd
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Mix
Team Needs:
Cornerback
Safety
Interior Offensive Line
The Pick: Nick Emmanwori
Rationale: Would be an intriguing safety duo to pair up Emmanwori with Hamilton.
PICK 28 - DETROIT LIONS
Offensive Line Scheme: Gap
Defensive Front: Even
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Man
Team Needs:
Edge
Defensive Line
Interior Offensive Line
The Pick: Donovan Jackson (OG, Ohio State)
Rationale: This is a safe pick and would be a nice fit in this gap scheme offense. Jackson can run block and the Lions have a hole at OG.
PICK 29 - WASHINGTON COMMANDERS
Offensive Line Scheme: Multiple
Defensive Front: Even
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Mix
Team Needs:
Edge
Cornerback
Running Back
The Pick: James Pearce (Edge, Tennessee)
Rationale: He is the 2nd best pass ruhser in this class; he would be picked higher if it were not for character. Dan Quinn likes to create chaos with front four. Pearce's combo of quickness/bend is elite. I really like Treyveon Henderson here.
PICK 30 - BUFFALO BILLS
Offensive Line Scheme: Multiple
Defensive Front: Even
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Mix
Team Needs:
Cornerback
Defensive Line
Edge
The Pick: Trey Amos (CB, Ole Miss)
Rationale: If they want to fill their top need, Amos would be a solid pick; I worry about what cornerbacks will be available at end of 2nd round if they decide to pass. I do have worry over his 10 yard split at the combine.
PICK 31 - KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
Offensive Line Scheme: Zone
Defensive Front: Even
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Man
Team Needs:
Defensive Line
Offensive Tackle
Edge
The Pick: Josh Conerly (OT, Oregon)
Rationale: I could see a defensive lineman here. Chiefs need to address the offensive line position and add depth. I feel like after Conerly and Ersery there is a serious drop in talent.
PICK 32 - PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
Offensive Line Scheme: Zone
Defensive Front: Odd
Defensive Coverage Tendency: Mix
Team Needs:
Safety
Defensive Line
Cornerback
The Pick: Donovan Ezeiraku (Edge, Boston College)
Rationale: Position of need. Ezeirauke fits nicely into their odd front scheme.

Round 1 - Pick 25 - Graham Barton (OG, Duke)
Why make this pick....
He is ideal fit for zone scheme that the Packer's run. He is really good in space and his testing numbers at Duke's pro day were elite. Also, he can play OC, OG, and possibly OT. His arm length is under 33" so that could limit if he can play OT; however he could provide depth in a pinch. Josh Myers had a terrible year in 2023 and could push to be the starting center in 2024. One thing to note is the 25th pick in the last seven drafts have been traded. Other guys to consider here are Kool-Aid McKinstry or any of the OT's.
Round 2 - Pick 41 - Marshawn Kneeland (DL, Western Michigan)
Why make this pick...
He has amazing tools with 9.87 score. With Gary, Van Ness, and Smith this is more of a luxury pick. He is very twitchy for size and can hold up against the run. He plays a premium position and has a lot of potental to be good. I could see the Packers taking a swing and selecting him. Could also be looking at Michael Hall Jr. Both Kneeland and Hall had top 30 visits with the Packers.
Round 2 - Pick 58 - Max Melton (CB, Maryland)
Why make this pick....
The Packers put a ton of emphasis on broad jump, and Melton's broad jump is off the charts. Rick Speilman believes he can play both outside and inside. He is a bit lean but is a willing tackler. Also has ability to play man and zone. RAS score was 9.68.
Round 3 - Pick 88 - Roger Rosengarten (OT Washington)
Why make this pick...
Fits zone blocking scheme perfectly. Really good in space and in 2nd level; testing numbers back that up. His knock is he does struggle against power. He would provide additional depth at OT. By drafting both Barton and Rosengarten it really fills the depth issues the Packers have on the offensive line.
Round 3 - Pick 91 - Cole Bishop (S Utah)
Why make this pick...
I am not in love with any of the safeties. I do like Javon Bullard as he can also play nickel cornerback. However, I do not think he lasts until the back end of round 3. Bishop has the measurables that the Packers look for in a safety. Possibly can play both box and deep safety position. Would be nice complement to McKinney. Has an RAS score of 9.81. One thing to note is he has very short arms (under 30").
Round 4 - Pick 126 - Trevin Wallace (LB Kentucky)
Why make this pick...
He is a ton of athleticsm and is very good in coverage. There are serious concerns with his instincts. His vision is not good and he does struggle in the run game. Due to his athleticism there is upside to this pick. Packers have a serous need to add bodies to the linebacker position. The Packers are a Walker injury away of being in serious trouble. The Packers are rumored to have interest in Edgerrin Cooper; however he would take a preimum pick to get.
Round 5 - Pick 169 - Ty'Ron Hopper (LB Missouri)
Why make this pick...
Packers have been known to double dip on positions and this would add even more depth to a position of need. He is very similar to Wallace. Also a very good athlete. Struggles with vision and is a grab and drag tackler. He is a very fluid athlete who is good in space. By picking both Wallace and Hopper you just hope that one of them hits.
Round 6 - Pick 202 - Khristian Boyd (DL Northern Iowa)
Why make this pick...
This pick reminds me of Karl Brooks last year. Brooks was not invited to the combine and then was selected in the 6th round. Just like Brooks, Boyd was not invited to the combine. Boyd can play 0-3 techniques. I envision him as the replacement to Slayton, who is playing on the last year of his rookie contact. Boyd has good quickness and can hold up to double teams.
Round 6 - Pick 219 - Isaac Guerendo (RB Lousville)
Why make this pick...
This is a popular pick to any team that runs a zone blocking scheme. He is a freaky athlete with high-end speed at 221 pounds. He is a 1-cut running back who has receiving ability. For how big he is, he runs with very little power goes down way too easily. Also, not a ton of production at Wisconsin or Louisville.
Round 7 - Pick 245 - Marcus Rosemy-JackSaint (WR Georgia)
Why make this pick...
JackSaint is not a high-end athlete so it could means a falls a bit. His play style is very similar to Romeo Doubs. He is a smooth route runner and good good blocker. He is on the thin side and will struggle against physical defenders.
Round 7 - Pick 255 - Akeem Dent (S Florida State)
Why make this pick...
He is slim but is a very physical player, especially in run support. PFF had him graded very high in coverage and has experence in the slot. Also would be a contributor on special teams.
